Battipaglia headed to Annapolis

Offensive tackle Jeff Battipaglia out of Philadelphia (Pa.) St. Joseph's Prep concluded his recruitment recently by accepting an offer to Navy. What made the 6-foot-4, 262-pounder join the Midshipmen?
"I committed two Mondays ago to Navy," he said. "For me, it was really between Navy and Army. Both official visits I saw what the schools had to offer, but I just felt more comfortable at Navy.

"I felt the career options in the military were more for me there with surface marine and Marine Corps. As far as football, they've got a pretty good team and they don't use linemen that are 300-poinds. That's good because I'm not up there in weight. I also really like the coaches. I get along with coach Spencer and Paul Johnson. I like coach Johnson he seems like a laid back guy."
The Keystone State lineman isn't sure what his chances of playing are once he arrives in Annapolis.
"I didn't really press on the issue," he said. "I'm just happy to be going there. It's an honor and privilege to go there. I'm going to work hard and see what happens."
