Basham takes an official visit

Chatham (Va.) Hargrave Military Academy has two more prospects to keep an eye on in the 2013 class according to head coach Troy Davis. One is a 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive end.
"Mississippi State is interested and Ohio has offered our defensive end Tarell Basham," Davis said. "Ohio is the only offer he's gotten.

"He just took an official to Ohio this past weekend. I haven't really had much of a chance to talk to him about it, but I think it went well."
Davis touched on the talent he's got in Basham.
"He's got great upside," he said. "He's quick and explosive off the ball. He's the type of kid that can play in a 4-3 or a 3-4.
"He was raw originally coming from Franklin County in Virginia. He just needed to come and work more and take care of his academics. He's doing it and is an exciting kid to watch.
"I am throwing his name out there and the recruiting trail is just starting up, but he'll be ready to leave at midyear."
Rounding it out at Hargrave, Davis noted a 6-foot-4, 320-pound offensive guard in Deion Dawkins.
"Liberty has offered him so far," he said. "He just got back from a visit to North Carolina A&T."
Davis reflected on him.
"He's a really explosive kid," he said. "He's a great run blocker and has quick feet. He's bouncing around between guard and tackle for me. He can even swing back to the defensive side too."
Davis noted that Dawkins is expected to graduate in December.
