Barton commits to Big Ten school

"Ohio State offered two days ago," offensive lineman Kirk Barton said late Wednesday night. "Coach Tressel offered me a scholarship."
"Coach Tressel said I was their number one guy."

"I talked it over with my mom and my coach. I called back and I committed."
"I canceled my visit to Northwestern this weekend. I'll visit Ohio State instead."
"And I decided not to visit Purdue and Pitt."
"I've always been a big Ohio State fan. Even when I moved to Florida I wore a Pepe Pearson jersey. Everyone else was wearing Miami jerseys."
The 6-foot-6 and 270 pounder from Massillon (Ohio) Perry played tight end and defensive end during his senior season. But he was like an extra tackle in Perry's run oriented offense. Barton will play tackle for the Buckeyes.
