Bartley enjoys trip to Pitt

Quarterback Bob Bartley out of Allison Park (Pa.) Hampton made the trip to Pittsburgh last weekend for the Panthers junior day. The 6-foot-3, 195-pounder was impressed with his trip and even got to talk to Dave Wannstedt personally on the visit.
"It was a real nice visit and I got to tour the locker room go to their basketball game and talk to the coaches," he said. "Coach Wannstedt talked with my parents and me about all sorts of stuff. He was a real nice guy and I really liked the way he sells the university. I got a real good perspective on the school from the visit. I was impressed with the facilities as they share with the Steelers which is great."

Bartley is receiving plenty of interest from other schools including Boston College, Indiana, Penn State, Stanford, Miami, Iowa, Akron, Ohio, Michigan and more. Who else besides the Panthers is the quarterback favoring at this time?
"I really like Boston College, Penn State, Indiana and Michigan a lot too," he said. "I've been getting a lot of handwritten letters from Boston College and I've been up there once and I like the Boston area. It seems like a real cool place to go to college. I like Michigan because of their quarterback coach.
"I really like coach Bradley at Penn State as he has shown a lot of interest in me. As for Indiana, I am getting a lot of mail from them every day too and it seems like they are in a nice area."
Last season Bartley threw for 1,728 yards, 28 touchdowns and eight interceptions as he was named honorable mention all-conference and a part of the Post Gazette's Fabulous 22 team.
"I think on the field I am a real good pocket passer that can take big hits and still complete the passes," he said. "I feel I'm a good pure passer as I threw 28 touchdowns last year and I know how to be a leader out there for my team."
Besides playing football, the quarterback prospect also plays basketball for Hampton.
"I'm doing pretty well this year averaging 17 points per game as our team is 24-2 on the year."
Bartley plans to attend the Nike Camp at Penn State and the Metro Index Camp this spring. He is also looking at camps this summer at Pittsburgh, Michigan and Boston College.
