Barrett on board with North Texas

North Texas has added another in-state commitment within the last month.
Mart, Texas wide receiver Kenny Barrett committed to UNT and says that there were several reasons for him picking the in-state school. However, he's still thinking about other camps this summer.

"It's a nice school and a place that I can go and play right off the bat," Barrett said. "I'd like to go in and compete as a true freshman."
Barrett was being recruited by North Texas coach Spencer Leftwich.
"He's a pretty nice guy," Barrett said. "He was probably the one that really helped me to make my decision."
Arkansas, Baylor, Oklahoma State, and Texas A&M continue to show interest in Barrett, but to this point, North Texas remains his only offer.
"I'm still looking," Barrett said. "It's a verbal commitment. I'm supposed to be going to Texas A&M's camp. I already went to Oklahoma State's camp. Arkansas wants me as a safety. I'll play defense if I have to, but I like being at receiver."
Aside from being an all-district performer for both offense and defense, Barrett was an honorable mention all-state selection as well.
