Barney one of South Floridas best

There are big time prospects and then there are just big prospects. When you find the mixture of both, you’ve found something special. That is exactly the case with 6-foot-5, 300 pound Miami (Fl.) Northwestern offensive tackle Christopher Barney.
This past weekend Barney put on quite a showing at the Miami Nike camp and is considered to be one of the top linemen in the Sunshine state.

"It was good,” he said. “I liked it a lot. It was my first time coming because for the other ones I was always busy. But this time I made it and it was a good experience."
Barney has already picked up offers from the likes of Miami, N.C. State, Florida State, Iowa and Rutgers.
“Right now my top three is Miami, Iowa and N.C. State,” he said. “My No. 1 right now is probably Miami because of the coaching staff and the program. It's a good program to be in.”
As a junior he earned Class 6A all-state honors as a junior, racking up 64 pancake blocks and grading out at 85 percent or better in each game.
He plans to camp at South Florida and Miami over the summer.
