Blake Barnett knows at the Under Armour All-America Game he's going to get ample opportunities to be around other Alabama commits and prospects looking at the Crimson Tide.
It's only one reason why the No. 1 dual-threat quarterback in the 2015 class is excited to be playing in the Under Armour game in Orlando.
Barnett, from Corona (Calif.) Santiago, committed to Alabama in June and he received his UA game jersey during a presentation at his high school on Thursday.
"I'm extremely excited," Barnett said. "I can't wait to get out to Florida for it. I know it's going to be a great time and a great experience.
"It's going to be great competition and I'll be able to play with some great athletes, the best in the nation, so everybody will get to showcase all their talents on the field."
Barnett will report to Tuscaloosa in early January just days after the Under Armour game which will probably be his final chance to sway some uncommitted recruits to the Crimson Tide.
Without being overbearing or bothersome, Barnett said he's going to do his best to work on certain prospects because he wants only the best in Alabama's 2015 recruiting class which currently sits atop the Rivals.com rankings.
"Every commit is always putting a few words in to the recruits each school is going after," Barnett said.
"You want to let the kids make their own decision but you want to let them know where you want them to go. You're always staying in contact with them and I think the quarterback is the main recruiter in the class just being the leader of the group. I try to get in as many words to some of these recruits as I can."
Barnett, who will take his Alabama official visit for the Auburn game, took an unofficial trip to Tuscaloosa a few weeks ago when the Crimson Tide beat Florida by three touchdowns. It was a great experience, he said, and only solidified his decision.
"It was awesome," Barnett said. "That was my first game I got to see so it was great to get out there and see the atmosphere and the fan base and get the overall feel for things on a game weekend. It was a perfect environment and they played a great game and got the win. It was nice to get out there and watch it."
