Barnett lands another offer

Blake Barnett and West Virginia offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson corresponded on Twitter, the 2015 quarterback sent out his latest highlight film and now he has a new offer from the Mountaineers.
The Corona (Calif.) Santiago standout was offered by West Virginia on Thursday and it joins Arizona, Cal, Colorado, Duke, Notre Dame and UCLA on his list.

While Barnett doesn't have a breadth of knowledge about West Virginia's program he has some basic idea about the Mountaineers and he's definitely interested.
"We followed each other on Twitter I would say about a month ago and I sent him my highlights and he just replied (Thursday) morning and told me to give him a call," Barnett said. "I gave him a call and he offered.
"I know a little bit about them. I know Geno (Smith) had an excellent last season there and he passed the ball a lot and that's always a great thing. I've heard great things about their offensive staff and play-calling so it's exciting."
Michigan and Missouri have mailed Barnett more in recent weeks and USC invited him to its game Saturday against Stanford. The Corona Santiago recruit said he isn't sure if he'll be at the Coliseum but the interest from USC is a positive development.
"Coach (Ed) Orgeron sent me mail a couple days ago that said he'd like me to come out to their game this Saturday," Barnett said. "I might be able to, I'm not sure."
Something else interesting in Barnett's recruitment is that he's taking another trip to Notre Dame for the BYU contest. The 2015 quarterback has already been there once this fall and he's interested in returning to South Bend.
"I'm going to Notre Dame next weekend for the BYU game," Barnett said. "I wanted to see a different perspective. It's winter now. I'm living in California so we don't have much of a winter here so I want to see the difference and check in with all the coaches."
