Barnes taking UCLA visit

Krys Barnes is visiting UCLA this weekend and he's hopeful the Bruins come through with an offer.
The four-star linebacker from Bakersfield (Calif.) Liberty has started to develop a good relationship with new UCLA position coach Scott White. Barnes visits this weekend and he's definitely looking forward to what the coaches have to say.

"I feel like UCLA is pretty close," Barnes said at the Las Vegas Pylon 7v7. "Coach White and I are in contact a lot. We talk pretty much every day, going back and forth on things.
"I'm going to visit them and see how it goes. That should be pretty good."
The Bakersfield Liberty standout has seen his recruitment skyrocket in recent months as he's landed offers from all over the country including Cal, LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon, USC, Washington and many others.
Because things have happened so quickly and with the distinct possibility of more offers coming his way, Barnes is not rushing a list of favorites. He's staying neutral about which schools stand out until things slow down and he can do research on all the teams.
"They flooded in pretty quickly and at this point there are a few colleges I'm still talking to and I've heard they're close to offering," Barnes said. "At this point, it's slowed down a little bit but I'm sure it will pick back up soon.
"All the schools that have offered me are high on my list. I don't have a top list or schools in order or anything like that but I definitely do want to get around more and visit more schools."
Barnes is planning the UCLA trip this weekend. A second visit to Boise State and going to Washington soon is also in the cards.
In his junior season, Barnes finished with 123 tackles.
