Barnes on USC offer: Its huge

Krys Barnes went to the USC Junior Day to get more familiar with the campus and to meet the coaching staff.
It was a great visit but got even better when he was told the Trojans wanted to offer.

"I talked to coach (Steve) Sarkisian and coach (Justin) Wilcox and we just talked for a little while," Barnes said. "I went in coach Sark's office and he told me they all enjoyed my film and since I came down they wanted to offer. They said they were really excited to offer me."
The 2016 LB from Bakersfield (Calif.) Liberty has landed plenty of impressive offers so far - and since the USC offer came last week even more have arrived - but the USC one is especially important to him.
There is a lot to like about the Trojans and Barnes said he knows it.
"This offer is huge," Barnes said. "We're kind of overwhelmed about it. With it coming so soon, I don't know, it's just a huge offer for me.
"Being close to home it's huge for me and my family. It's a great program, it's another Pac-12 school that has offered me. The competition is great there. The environment is great. The campus is great. It's just really big."
So far, Barnes has landed offers from USC, Boise State, Colorado, Colorado State, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Washington State. There is also an abundance of interest coming in so the Bakersfield Liberty linebacker does not plan to rush a decision.
"I don't plan on committing or anything like that until senior year," Barnes said. "I'm going to try to last the whole way through and wait to commit."
In his junior season, Barnes finished with 123 tackles.
