Barnes happy with decision

Krys Barnes had been receiving major offers from across the country but the four-star linebacker had found his dream school and he said there was no reason to wait any longer.
The Bakersfield (Calif.) Liberty standout committed to UCLA in recent weeks and is completely happy with his decision for numerous reasons.

"It's a big relief to get it done and to know I'm with one school and it's the school where I want to be," Barnes said this past at the Air Battle In The Desert 7on7 Tournament. "There's no other place I'd rather be. UCLA is the place for me.
"Out of all the places, I was looking for a place that would treat me like family and that's what I got there. Every coach, that's the vibe they give off and that's what they're all about. I can just tell.
"Another reason is because that was my dream school since I was little. I'm not going to pass up that opportunity to go there and be a Bruin."
UCLA just switched linebacker coaches as well with Jeff Ulbrich leaving for the NFL and Scott White getting the job. Barnes, rated No. 12 at his position by Rivals.com, said his relationship with the new coach has gone incredibly smoothly.
"He actually got to know me pretty quickly," Barnes said. "We talk on pretty much a day-to-day basis. We can talk about anything so he's a really cool guy and I know he's going to develop me in the right way."
The Bakersfield Liberty recruit said his recruitment has slowed down a little bit but that others continue to pursue him. Barnes wants to make it clear that he found the right place and is no longer considering any others.
"Some have backed off," Barnes said. "They all told me if anything changes to let them know. I'm pretty solid on my decision."
In his junior season, the four-star finished with 123 tackles.
