Barnes could announce on Saturday

SPARTANBURG, S.C.-Down to Louisville and the in-state South Carolina Gamecocks, Rivals250 athlete Mark Barnes told Rivals.com on Sunday that it's possible he could make an announcement as to his college decision at the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas on Saturday afternoon.
"I'm still undecided right now and I'm just trying to follow my heart," Barnes said. "And if my heart says that it's going to be this Saturday, then it's going to be this Saturday, no doubt."

The 6-foot-2, 194-pounder described the process of being down to two programs.
"It's been a battle, back-and-forth, back-and-forth," he said. "It's hard when you are trying to make a decision when you narrow it down to two schools. It's been a great process in the whole recruiting thing. It's good to say that the decision will come down to whatever my heart says."
Barnes, who has been recruited as both a receiver and a defensive back, will play in the secondary at safety this week.
"I talked to a lot of people on that side of the ball and it seems like we will have fun on that side of the ball," Barnes said. "I'm not worried about anything going wrong. I am comfortable with the defense. My goals are basically just to lock everybody down on every ball that comes in the air."
Barnes will join other talented prospects in the South Carolina secondary, including his high school teammate, Notre Dame cornerback commit Gary Gray and Clemson commit Scotty Cooper, who will play strong safety this week.
"It's definitely an honor to be back there with special people like that that have talent on the same level as yours or in some cases even better," Barnes said. "I like playing with people who are just like me, so it feels good."
Barnes talked about some of his other goals for the week.
"(This week is about) meeting new people and getting ready for this game and having fun," he said.
Barnes is a mid (5.9) four-star rated prospect according to Rivals.com and is the nation's seventh-ranked athlete.
