Bargas awaits new options

Jake Bargas isn't convinced he's seen his last scholarship offer, so narrowing his list isn't a priority. He'd assume wait until more opportunities are laid out in front of him before he makes any bold claim about the future of his recruitment.
And the so three-star tight end will wait a little while longer before making any sort of decision. Bargas does not lack for patience, but he also has a plan.

"I think I'm going to get a Texas Tech offer pretty soon. I talked to the head coach and the tight ends coach over there this week, and they seem to like me a lot. They said that an offer should be coming soon. I really think my recruitment is going to pick up a ton in the next couple weeks."
For the time being, Bargas lists 11 scholaship offers, the most recent of which came from Louisville. And while he plans to collect more offers and take plenty of other visits, one schools is beginning to stand out.
"Duke stands out right now just because of the academics," Bargas said. "I visited there unofficially for the Duke-UNC game, which was really cool. I'm going to take the rest of my visits after spring and into the summer, maybe go to a camp or two and then commit."
Bargas cautions that he has not considered committing to Duke or anywhere else at this early juncture. He has things on his checklist to cross off before he crosses that bridge. So while he's not shy about pointing out that there's plenty to like about the Blue Devils, this situation has plenty of moving parts.
Upcoming events could change everything.
"I definitely want to check out Wake Forest and some of the other schools that have offered, but I really want to visit some of the schools that might offer in the next few weeks too," Bargas said. "I really want to see my option. Texas Tech says they are pretty close, and that's a good offer. It comes and goes. I'm hoping for USC to stop by and maybe I can get that offer."
A junior at Boca Raton (Fla.) St. Andrews High School, Bargas stands 6-foot-4 and weighs 225 pounds.
