Barclay takes in two junior days

Over the last couple weeks offensive tackle Donny Barclay out of Harmony (Pa.) Seneca Valley has made trips to two junior days. The 6-foot-5, 285-pounder was impressed by both visits, but one of the schools appears to have stuck out more to the lineman prospect.
"A couple weeks ago I went down to Maryland and then last weekend I went to Pittsburgh," he said. "I liked Maryland a whole lot. The coaches were real nice there and they showed a lot of interest in me. Basically they showed us around the facilities, locker room and campus and then we went to a basketball game.

"After that I got a chance to meet with my recruiters coach Rychleski and coach Brattan. They mostly talked to me about how they wanted me to come down to camp this summer so they can see me live. They also wanted me to visit for some spring practices. Overall I've got to say it was a real nice visit with great coaches and players. They seem like they have a pretty nice organization there."
How did his trip to Pittsburgh fare?
"That was a real nice visit too and I liked it a lot," he said. "I especially liked their new facilities and coach Dunn and Gattuso like me a lot. I've been down there a lot, but I was shocked by how nice it was and it was great to spend a lot more one-on-one time with coach Dunn. He basically talked about what position I could play for them and all sorts of other stuff."
Overall Barclay seemed more impressed with his trip to Pittsburgh.
"Pittsburgh was really nice and I'd say it probably is the nicest school I've been to so far. I liked it a lot."
Currently the lineman prospect has no favorites, but he is receiving a lot of mail recently from Akron, Pittsburgh, Maryland, Boston College, North Carolina State and Ohio State. On March 19th Barclay is planning to attend Akron's junior day.
This spring the second team all-conference lineman plans to head to the Nike Camp at Penn State and the Metro Index Combine at Pittsburgh.
