The last few weeks have been a bit hectic for Rivals250 linebacker Jaquan Yulee. The Chesapeake (Va.) Indian River standout was supposed to visit Alabama on the weekend of May 29 and commit on June 4, but his plans were delayed.
At a ceremony at his school on Monday evening, Yulee announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide. At the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour over the weekend, Yulee talked extensively about his interest in the Alabama program.
"Compared to all the other schools I've been, it's been amazing," said the 6-foot-1, 239-pound Yulee. "It's all about football down there. When I went down there there were some people that already knew me and told me they watched my film the night before. It's just an amazing feeling. Then talking to Coach (Nick) Saban was just a really big plus."
Yulee visited Alabama back in mid-March and clearly enjoyed the trip. Since then he has developed a strong relationship with linebackers coach Tosh Lupoi. Lupoi is also Yulee's area recruiter.
Even though Yulee has now committed, he still plans on taking a few visits. He named Florida State as one of the schools that he will visit in his interview at the Five-Star Challenge on Friday.
Yulee chose Alabama over Virginia Tech, Florida State, North Carolina and Michigan State.
