Baker reflects on his decision

Defensive end Ryan Baker visited Notre Dame, Purdue, Oklahoma, Michigan, and Boston College before narrowing his decision down to the Irish and Boilermakers.
Baker then committed to Notre Dame earlier this week, a decision that was not an easy one for the Indiana standout.

"It was the hardest decision I've ever made," Baker said. "It was so close."
"The people at Purdue are great. The program is great."
"But I made the decision to go to Notre Dame. That's what I'm going to do."
"I'd say it was the school itself and the type of players there. It was just an overall feel."
"(Notre Dame assistant) Coach Mattison has been great. And coach Willingham too."
"And the education is great at Notre Dame."
"I'm going to go in there and compete and see what I can do."
The 6-foot-6 and 225 pound Baker, from Indianapolis (Ind.) Chatard, played both defensive end and tight end during his senior season. Baker is the Rivals.com number 12 strongside defensive end prospect with a four star rating.
