“I talked with the coaches from Minnesota," Ryan Bain said. “I've set my first official visit to Minnesota on October 1st. We have a game that night, and I'll be making the trip up to Minnesota either after the game or early the next morning."
Bain talked about why he decided to make an official visit to the Gophers.
"I really like the direction that the football program is heading at Minnesota. I also like the coaches quite a bit at Minnesota, and I have a really good relationship with them, and in particular with my recruiting coach Vic Adamle. I also like the city and the area around the school, and I definitely wanted to see what Minnesota has to offer."
Bain insist that he's still in the process of narrowing down his favorites.
"I'm still in the process of narrowing things down, and I've started to tell some school that I'm not really interested in their program. I'm going to get my list narrowed down soon, and then I'll make it known once I have a good handle on my favorites. I'd rather not mention who I've cut from my list just yet."
Bain admits that at times he's uncertain when talking to college coaches if he's even has an offer from that program.
"I've been getting a lot of calls and I've also been talking to a lot of different coaches. At times it can get confusing, like the other night I was talking with the coaches from Ohio State. I had a really good conversation with the coach, but I'm still not totally certain if I have a scholarship offer from them at this point. The coach wants me to come down and check out a game in person soon, and they said they are recruiting me as a linebacker. I'm just not sure if I have an offer from them or not. That's happened with a few schools so far."
Bain will also most likely make at least a handful official visits before making his final college choice.
"I'm just going to take some visits before I make my decision, and I might end up taking my allotted five official visits. I know that once I have a good feeling for a school, I'll make my decision, but I'm just not at that point yet."
