Bailey leads Huguenot to regionals

Three-star wide receiver Ke'Mon Bailey out of Richmond (Va.) Huguenot helped lead the Falcons in the playoffs over Deep Run last week as he rushed for 100 yards on 15 carries. This week Bailey and Huguenot head to 10-1 Mataoca in a tough regional championship game.
"This year has been very special and it means a lot because we haven't been to the regional championship since 1998," he said. "People constantly talk about the '98 team and I hope they'll be talking about us like that in five or ten years. We're working hard on and off the field to get ready. We know they have a good team, but we're looking for the upset."

Bailey has struggled this season due to ankle injuries, but he's still managed to rush for 800 yards and receive for 200 with three total touchdowns.
"I'm feeling great now and I've come back strong in just the nick of time for the playoffs," he said. "I feel like I'm 110% healthy and ready to go."
In recruiting the No. 18 player in Virginia still hasn't set up an official visit, but he does know where he's going.
"I plan to go check out Kansas State sometime and I know I'll be going to Purdue in December," he said. "I'd still say Purdue is leading because I've read so much about them. I talk to the coaches a lot and they are very high on me and want me to play next year. That's important and what makes me look at them most. I still want to get more out of them though to see where they want me to play and how much will I be able to my first year."
Recently, Bailey picked up another offer from Grambling State.
