Badgers, Rebels among LBs calls

Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview linebacker Demetrice Alexander says he’s been surprised by the lack of overall calls he’s received during the first week-plus of the September contact period, but has had productive conversations with a couple of major programs.
“I don’t really get recruiting and what exactly some of these teams are looking for,” he said, “but it seems like Ole Miss, Indiana and Wisconsin really like me. Indiana has made me an offer, and Wisconsin said they will be, but nothing’s set in stone yet. Ole Miss has been showing a lot of interest lately. I think something may be happening there.”

In addition to those schools, Alexander says he’s receiving mail from Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, Kentucky and Louisville.
“I’m still open to all those schools,” he said. “I really can’t name a top three or top five or anything until I see who all is going to be offering. I’d probably like to stay in the South if I could, though.”
He hopes to attend games at Florida and Florida State this season. A trip to the LSU-Ole Miss game is also in the works.
Alexander (6-0, 215, 4.57) recorded 124 tackles, seven tackles for loss and six sacks as a junior in helping lead Parkview to the Class 5A state championship. He’s off to a strong start as a senior, having tallied 16 tackles, two tackles for loss and one sack in the Panthers’ season-opening win.
