Arlington (Texas) Seguin safety Donte Neal is the next big defender at the North Texas school to pick up a scholarship offer. This one came from a ways away.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder had been hearing from several schools around the state from Kansas State, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and others. However, it was Wisconsin who made the first move.
"Wisconsin offered me yesterday actually," Neal said. "I talked with coach Kerry Cooks on the phone. He's a good coach from what I know about them and I've got a lot of interest in them."
In fact, the Badgers are tied with a Big 12 team for the early lead.
"Wisconsin and K-State are my favorites," Neal said. "It's really between those two right now. Wisconsin is the first school that showed me interest and the program seems great from what I know. It's the same thing with Kansas State. They seem interested."
As a junior, Neal was a first-team all-district member. He had over 75 tackles and 12 pass breakups. However, he says it's his run-support that makes him a special player.
"I like to play close to the line," Neal said. "Being a safety, I like to support the run. I'm a run-stopping safety."
Neal says that he's not interested in deciding too early. But, he's not going to wait until Signing Day either.
"Basically, I'll have to talk to my parents about all that before I decide," he said. "We'll sit down and discuss that before I commit."
