Badger pulls the trigger

Stanford was one of the nation's biggest recruiting surprises last season and the Cardinal pulled off one of the biggest surprises in the early part of 2010 when Chris Badger pulled the trigger for Stanford.
"Chris decided to commit to Stanford today," Troy Badger, Chris' brother, said.

"He's pretty excited about it."
Badger, who is 6-foot and 178-pounds, is right in BYU's backyard at Provo (Utah) Timpview. He had listed both BYU and Utah as his top teams since both schools offered him early in the process, but the offer from Stanford really caught his eye.
Especially when you factor in that Badger's father is a Stanford graduate and one of his brothers, Brandon, played tennis for the Cardinal.
"I wanted to find a school that has a depth chart that isn't loaded at my position," Badger said about what was important in picking a school. "I want to find a good program that I can be part of and become the best player I can. And I need to find a school that I am going to be comfortable with."
As a junior, Badger recorded a team leading 75 tackles. He helped lead Timpview to the state championship for the third straight season. As a starter since his sophomore season, Badger has never left the field as a loser, having had a hand in leading the team to the three state championships.
