MORE: Adams plans to stay committed

One of the big reasons Troy Bacon committed to Boise State was because of coach Chris Petersen. With Petersen now at Washington, the Hesperia (Calif.) Oak Hills offensive tackle is not quite sure where his recruitment is headed.
"I've been hearing from Washington a lot in the past couple months," Bacon said. "I've talked to coach (Steve) Sarkisian before and the o-line coach up there, but since they bailed out and Petersen went up there you know he's going to take some of the coaching staff from Boise.
"I'm pretty much just playing the waiting game right now just to see who he takes and then who takes over. I'll most likely end up de-committing and then I'll take my other trips and see what else is out there. He was a big part of why I committed to Boise. I love the coach and since he left it's disappointing. I know he's going to take a decent amount of his coaching staff with him so I'm just playing it out."
This could turn out very well for Bacon, who committed to Boise State in late November and cited the coaching staff as a big reason.
He wants to take his time and see how things settle at Washington - and he's hoping for the possibility that the new staff there will be interested in him.
"That's kind of a big thing I'm going to contact them for," Bacon said. "I know they have a couple commits up there, but they were big on Sarkisian so now we'll see. They're going to need linemen. They said they're going to bring their recruiting board with them so I could be playing for a Pac-12 team. I'm going to wait and see and let the dust settle and find out who goes where.
"For now I'm still committed, but it's just until they name that new head coach. I'll give him a call and let him know I'm going to explore my options, but I've already heard from tons of schools already. They know I'm going to open it back up."
Washington State, Arizona, Arizona State, New Mexico, Colorado State and Eastern Washington have all reached out.
