Back from injury, Gardner sees interest rise

After being out the entire season, wide receiver Trey Gardner out of Dinwiddie, Va. returned a couple weeks back. The 6-foot-5, 202-pounder is eyeing his first official visit as his interest begins to pick back up.
"I was out with a leg injury, but I'm back fully healthy," he said. "I feel good again. I feel like I have a big role on this team. It felt good to come out in my first game and score the first touchdown to help my team out.

"I think I've improved. I'm more physical and I'm a bigger playmaker. I'm stepping up and making big plays."
College coaches are taking notice as the two-star prospect is getting more looks.
"A lot of coaches are calling me, checking in on me," he said. "Coach Reid from Virginia called a few days ago. He was just asking how I'm doing and told me he wanted to get me up there for a game so that I can get to know the coaches more.
"Marshall has also come in. They want to see my senior film. They said they liked what they saw, they just want to see how I am doing this year before they make their decision."
Gardner still holds offers from Delaware, Liberty, North Carolina Central and Miami (Ohio). The wideout plans to take a trip to Miami (Ohio) soon.
"I'm thinking about making an official visit there for their homecoming game on October 23rd. Coach Mills told me I need to go visit the school to see how I like it and see it for myself."
