Babiash surprised by newest offer

Derek Babiash has been picking up offers pretty quickly but even he was surprised when his coach told him Nebraska might be ready to offer.
The Poway, Calif., three-star cornerback said he was excited to hear from the Huskers and they're definitely under strong consideration. A trip to Lincoln could happen sometime this summer.

"I was talking to the coach a little bit but I wasn't expecting anything from them so soon and then my coach called me on the phone and told me that Nebraska wanted to offer," Babiash said. "It was really a shocker.
"I like them. It's a good defensive school and a good school overall. They compete every year and they're always in the top 25 so I'm looking at them. I want to see what it's like out there but I've heard it's all about football out there and that's the kind of place I want to be."
So far, Babiash lists offers from Nebraska, Oregon State, San Diego State, Utah and Washington State and many other schools are starting to show interest.
The three-star said he's hearing more from Washington, Wisconsin and Oregon. He's especially looking forward to a trip to Oregon State this weekend.
"I'm excited to see the coaches," Babiash said. "I want to see how they all work together. I definitely want to take a look at the school."
There is still lots of time for teams to get involved since Babiash said he's nowhere near making a decision and he would like to take many more visits before commitment time comes around.
Rivals.com rates the Poway standout as the No. 34 cornerback in the 2013 class.
