B2G Elite: Top offensive performers

Recruiting wrap: Washington is showing a lot of interest but he only has offers from Davidson, San Diego and Yale at this point.
Performance: Shohfi does everything well from running crisp routes to catching the ball with his hands away from his body to routinely beating cornerbacks all over the field. Sometimes he struggles against physical play at the line but if Shohfi can get any kind of separation he's a big-time playmaker. Some school is going to offer him late in the process and it will be getting a major steal.

WR
Trevon Sidney
La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat
Recruiting wrap: USC is considered the frontrunner but Sidney wants to visit
Notre Dame and Washington soon.
Performance: Just like at the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour in Baltimore, Sidney looked like one of the smoothest, most-fluid receivers in this class and because of that he can get away from any cornerback and catch every pass. In space, Sidney is spectacular and he was especially effective going deep during the one-on-one session. Sometimes, the four-star tries to catch passes one-handed and that won't work in college, but it doesn't seem like a major issue.

WR
Keyshawn Young
Miami (Fla.) Miami Senior
Recruiting wrap: Young said Alabama and USC are his top
two.
Performance: Young had a really strong weekend as he showed terrific speed down the field, an ability to run sharp routes and excellent hands. The three-star prospect also has a real competitive drive so he was constantly testing himself against top-notch cornerbacks and more often than not beating them in one-on-one
situations. Young is not one of the higher-rated receivers in Florida but he's a legitimate player.
5
WR
Tyler Vaughns
La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat
Recruiting wrap: Vaughns plans to visit Alabama, Oklahoma and
Georgia this summer. USC remains a serious contender as well.
Performance: The four-star prospect has a special way of timing up his routes so he can set up cornerbacks and then smoothly catch the ball in open space. Vaughns can catch short passes and make people miss to gain extra yards, but he's even more deadly going deep and making a spectacular catch. He makes it look effortless at times and he has phenomenal hands to snatch the ball out of the air.
6
WR
Michael Pittman
Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian
Recruiting wrap: Pittman recently decommitted from UCLA and Oregon is
considered the favorite.
Performance: There has been some debate this offseason whether Pittman projects best at receiver or on defense but the four-star proved Friday he can be a legitimate threat on offense. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound prospect has excellent range and length and he proved that by beating a bunch of smaller cornerbacks during one-on-one drills. When he's running his routes at 100 percent Pittman can get open against anybody and he has a tremendous catch radius because of his big frame.
7
WR
Joseph Lewis (2017)
Los Angeles (Calif.) Augustus Hawkins
Recruiting wrap: Plenty of top programs including USC, UCLA, Michigan and Notre
Dame have offered so far.
Performance: Lewis goes hard, plants his foot in the ground and explodes by cornerbacks. He has shown tremendous hands this entire offseason. The 2017 prospect could be one of the top receivers in his class and he
continues to grow and get more physical. What stands out most about Lewis is his constant passion to get better. He has all the physical tools to be special and he continues to have a great spring.
8
RB
Melquise Stovall
Lancaster (Calif.) Paraclete
Recruiting wrap: Stovall is committed to USC.
Performance: The 5-foot-8, 180-pound all-purpose back was a nuisance for every defender that tried to match up with him. Stovall stays low through his routes and that allows him to move freely in space, making him a nightmare for linebackers that just can't keep up. Stovall had similar success when he lined up on the edge and had one of the best catches in the event when he went up between two defensive backs for a big touchdown.
9
WR
Jalen Hall (2018)
Los Angeles (Calif.) Augustus Hawkins
Recruiting wrap: Hall already holds over a dozen scholarship offers, including
Arizona State, Baylor, Miami, Ole Miss, Notre Dame,
Tennessee, UCLA, USC and
Washington.
Performance: Given how he fared in one-on-one drills, it's easy to forget that Hall still has three seasons of high school football remaining. He has tremendous size for a sophomore and, despite that length, moves very well down field. Hall also showed good hands and the leaping ability that would qualify him as a goal-line threat.
10
WR
Hezekiah Jones (2017)
Stafford, Texas
Recruiting wrap: Jones has visited nearly every program in Texas and also has national attention, with Florida, Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma and UCLA after his signature.
Performance: The 5-foot-11, 171-pound wideout had mixed results but when he was on his game, he was easily one of the top receivers in attendance. Jones moves fluidly in and out of his cuts and though his hands are a bit suspect at times, he can stretch the field as a deep threat. He looked explosive on slant routes where he could attack the football and then quickly turn up field.
11
QB
JT Daniels (2019)
Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei
Recruiting wrap: Daniels is new to the recruiting process.
Performance: Daniels has yet to play a down at the high school level but he definitely stood out among a quarterback group that included prospects headed to Alabama and Nebraska. He put good zip on the football when he had to and rarely
missed his target on the deep ball, showing the promise that should make him one of the region's best in his class.
12
QB
Patrick O'Brien
San Juan Capistrano (Calif.) San Juan Hills
Recruiting wrap: O'Brien is committed to Nebraska.
Performance: No other quarterback had a better first practice than O'Brien, who anticipated routes well and fit his throws into even the tightest windows. The future Cornhusker also looked to have trimmed up, making him lighter on his feet in the pocket and a bit more mobile rolling out of the pocket to hit streaking
receivers.
13
WR
Damian Alloway
Fontana (Calif.) Summit
Recruiting wrap: Alloway intends to visit Notre Dame soon, and also has
California, UCLA and Wisconsin at the top of his list.
Performance: Per usual, the four-star slot receiver was very quick off the line of scrimmage and often left defenders in the dust with a good double-move. Alloway might not blow anyone away with his measurables, but he has been one of the state's most consistent prospects this offseason by catching nearly everything thrown his way and showing a knack for gaining separation.
14
WR
Kyle Philips (2018)
San Marcos, Calif.
Recruiting wrap: Philips is new to the recruiting process.
Performance: The youngster didn't appear at all fazed by the loaded collection of defensive backs that stood in his way. No matter who was on the other side during one-on-one drills, Philips managed to get open for big gains and, at times, sprawling catches. It's still early, but he certainly showed glimpses that could make him an intriguing slot-type prospect down the road.
