It has not been an incredibly busy time for the three stars at Los Angeles Augustus Hawkins – 2017 WR Joseph Lewis and 2018 ATH Greg Johnson along with 2018 WR Jalen Hall – but more offers could be coming and a round of visits is expected sometime this offseason.

Lewis, who said Oklahoma is recruiting him the hardest, said he wants to visit USC soon to meet with a lot of the new coaches on staff and that trips to Tennessee and Washington are expected in the spring or summer.

Johnson, who could play cornerback or running back, has been hearing a lot from USC, Tennessee, Washington and Michigan lately and echoed Lewis’ statement that he wants to get to know the new USC coaches as soon as possible. As for new interest, Johnson said LSU and Alabama have been sending mail.

Hall, arguably one of the top 2018 receivers nationally, is also expected to see Washington and Tennessee soon and he said the Hawkins’ recruits should take a trip to Arizona State as well. As for new offers, Hall said he hopes to land Alabama, Clemson and LSU soon.

St. Browns plan visits

Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei 2017 four-star receiver Osiris St. Brown hopes to visit Michigan again, this time to meet with coach Jim Harbaugh, and since he’ll be in the Midwest for the Sound Mind, Sound Body camp he expects a trip to Ann Arbor will happen.

That also means a trip to Michigan State along with possible stops back at Notre Dame and Northwestern. Hopefully, St. Brown said, he could also get to LSU, Alabama and Stanford soon.

His brother, 2018 prospect Amon-Ra, said Washington and Northwestern have really ramped up interest in him recently as St. Brown has already landed offers from Boise State, Notre Dame, Utah and Washington State.

Their older brother, Equanimeous, is having a good time playing at Notre Dame and Osiris St. Brown said that will definitely be a considering factor when he looks at favorites later on.

Brown has eyes on SEC

Tommy Brown has the potential to be a national recruit. At 6-foot-7 and 315 pounds he’s hard to miss especially since he’s in the 2018 class and playing at powerhouse Mater Dei.

Brown’s first offer came recently from Missouri and it’s definitely a big one although the 2018 standout admitted he doesn’t know too much about the program yet.

He’s also looking at Alabama and Tennessee closely. His father threw the shot put for the Crimson Tide so there is a connection already to Tuscaloosa and his dad has told him stories about times in Knoxville as well, so those are two programs that stand out early.

UCLA is also showing some early interest and Brown is high on Stanford after taking a recent visit there, plus five-star teammate Curtis Robinson is committed to the Cardinal in this recruiting class.

Isaac Taylor

Four-star defensive back Brandon McKinney recently landed an offer from Utah and USC invited him to its upcoming junior day so his recruitment is picking up. The Orange (Calif.) Lutheran prospect said LSU and Notre Dame have also sent some preliminary mail.

Merlin Robertson is a hard-hitting, fierce 2018 linebacker and colleges are starting to take notice. The Gardena (Calif.) Serra recruit said he recently landed new offers from Oregon State and BYU. USC and others are also getting a little more involved.

One of the more impressive defensive backs at the B2G Battlefield event was 2018 recruit Isaac Taylor out of San Diego (Calif.) St. Augustine. He has already landed offers from Utah and San Diego State. UCLA, Arizona and Fresno State have been showing interest and many more offers could be coming because Taylor is a fantastic player.
