Aztecs land super athlete

Athlete prospect DeMarco Sampson (6-3, 190, 4.6) from Chula Vista (Calif.) Castle Park decided to commit to San Diego State. This is a huge pick-up for Tom Craft and his program. Sampson was one of the best players in the area in 2003.
If Craft continues to keep players the caliber of Sampson at home then the Aztecs as a program will be able to play with any team in the country.

Sampson is currently visiting San Diego State but Rivals.com was able to catch up with DeMarco’s Father DeMarco Sampson, Sr. “San Diego State offered the best package and everything he wanted,” Mr. Sampson said. “He’s very excited about being an Aztec.”
“DeMarco love Tom Craft’s offense, they throw the ball a lot,” Mr. Sampson said. “They’re going to throw the ball to him.”
In an earlier interview with Castle Park quarterback coach Kevin Willard said “DeMarco is one of the top three players in San Diego County. He is the real deal.”
“DeMarco brings everything to the table,” Willard said. “The first time he returned a punt was when he was a sophomore. DeMarco was a little nervous and muffed it a little bit. He recovered and raced by everyone for an 80-yard touchdown.”
“DeMarco had to fake out everyone on the opposing team at least once and most of them twice,” Willard said. “It was incredible. That play was the Pigskin Play of the Week for the entire county of San Diego.”
Sampson brings a lot of versatility to the table. He has the ability to play all four defensive back positions.
Sampson is being recruited as an offensive player for the Aztecs.
For 2003 Sampson racked up 26 catches for 374 yards and six touchdowns. Sampson scored 18 touchdowns overall, including returns on defense and special teams.
Sampson was an all-county and all-league selection as a junior and was the winner of the Pigskin Play of the week twice for his standout play.
