AZ back has favorite

One of the top running backs we saw out West this year during the NIKE Football camps was Phoenix (Ariz.) Paradise Valley standout Michael Williams. The athlete is currently sitting on two scholarship offers but said if one particular school offered him, it would be very tough to say no.
Williams, 5-9, 190 pounds was rated one of the top five backs at the NIKE Camp at USC back in April. He tested very well running a 4.47-40, 4.31 shuttle and did 20 reps on the bench. He also looked good in the position drills showing a nice burst and caught every ball we saw thrown at him.

Williams has a nice frame and you can tell he has spent some quality time in the weight room. He rushed for 1,231 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior and should really blow up this coming season.
On the recruiting front, Williams had early offers from BYU and Colorado State and UTEP was the most recent school to offer.
"I camped at UTEP and did really well, they offered me while I was there," Williams said. "I had a good time and liked the campus a lot. BYU was my first offer but they pulled it recently because they filled up on running backs so I just have CSU and UTEP right now.
"I'm still hearing from a lot of schools but I think they all want to wait and see me as a senior before they offer. Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Cal, UCLA, Michigan State, Colorado and Boston College are all sending letters and showing a lot of interest. Along with the two offers, my top schools would be Arizona, UCLA and Cal.
"I really want to wait and go through the process before making a decision but if Arizona were to offer me, it would be hard to turn them down. I would be very tempted to jump on it but I do want to try and take my trips and see what is all out there."
