Ayres plans to take his time

Three-star running back Dontea Ayres of Salisbury (Md.) Wicomico recently added a couple of new offers, and took the opportunity to visit one of the schools last week. He may also take another visit during his upcoming spring break.
"Recruiting has been going really well," said Ayers. "I picked up an offer from West Virginia last month, Rutgers last week and also N.C. State. I'm picking up some new offers."

Aside from the three most recent offers, Ayers also had early offers from Duke and Northwestern. He is also claiming increased recent interest from other schools like Vanderbilt, Stanford and Tennessee.
After taking a recent visit to Duke, he followed that up with his first visit to Rutgers.
"It was great," said Ayers. "I loved the coaching staff. I love the program overall."
The next visit for Ayers may be to Northwestern during his spring break, but he does not have any visits planned at this time for spring games or summer camps.
While in New Jersey for his Rutgers visit, Ayers also participated at the recent NUC event.
"I wanted to compete against the best and see where I stand," said Ayers. "I really enjoyed it. It was fast paced. I came out there and performed and did what I thought I would do. The competition was definitely up to par. It was very competitive and I enjoyed it."
When it comes to making a final decision, Ayers first plans to take all of his official visits.
