Aymond likes Wisconsin, Northwestern

Galena Park (Texas) North Shore defensive back Bug Aymond has had a busy summer. Between visiting schools as far away as Wisconsin, and working out with one of the best high school teams in Texas, he has had almost no time for football camps.
“I have been going to summer school as well,” Aymond said. “I have been taking English 4. I plan to graduate at midterm so that I can go to spring practice for the team that I choose.”

“I have also been working as a bank courier, and we practice every day. I have been pretty busy, and haven’t made it out to any full length camps.”
The 5-foot-11 190 pound Aymond is still waiting for his first offer, and he admits that the wait is getting tiresome. He says that many schools are showing a high interest in him while he waits for the scholarship offer.
“I have no offers yet,” he said. “It has been really frustrating. I have a lot of interested schools. Air Force, TCU, Baylor, North Texas, Wisconsin, Tulane, Northwestern and Arizona are some of them.”
“Out of those, I really like Arizona, Wisconsin and Northwestern.”
He likes the two Big 10 schools for good reasons.
“I went to visit Wisconsin and Northwestern this summer,” he said. “We flew into Chicago and I went up to Madison for their one day camp. Then, we came back into the city and looked at Northwestern before I came home. I really like Wisconsin. Madison was great. It’s a small town that is really all about the school. It doesn’t get much better than that.
“Northwestern was really nice too. It was right on the lake, so it was nice and cool. A lot of the old buildings reminded me of Rice.”
The buzzwords around North Shore are state championship. With fie Division I prospects on the team, it would be hard not to get excited about this team’s potential this season.
“We are so ready for the season to start,” he said. “There are five of us who are getting a lot of exposure, and now everybody is ready to play. We have been looking forward to this since our freshman year.”
