Dontae Aycock had a super senior season for Tampa (Fla.) Chamberlain. He led them to a 12-2 record. They lost to Lakeland last week in the state semi-finals. Aycock, a running back prospect that is also a quarterback, threw for 1,491 yards and 17 scores and rushed for 1,450 yards and 25 scores.
So far he has set up two official visits as he will trip to Louisville (1-3) and Georgia Tech (1-16) next month. He's also down to four schools – Georgia Tech, Louisville, New Mexico and Illinois.
"Georgia Tech is the one school that likes me at quarterback. They were one of the first schools to offer me and they stuck with me. I have been up there twice and I like Atlanta. I was born there and have family there
"I also like Louisville, especially their running backs coach. He's also my main recruiter. We have built a real good relationship and talk about different things. I want to take a good look at them.
"I talk with Ron Zook a lot at Illinois. He's a nice guy. My former teammate is up there (Fred Sykes) and he played a lot as a freshman. That's one thing I really like about Illinois, they will play you early.
"I really like Mike Locksley and I am glad he got the head job at New Mexico. We talked a lot when he was at Illinois. We have a really good relationship. We talk about football and life. I will give them a look because you never know."
