Austin TE keeps the race even

Even with two offers in his grasp, Austin (Texas) McNeil tight end Alex Arndt has seen his recruiting process take flight even more since in-home visits began and the phone calls continued at a heavy pace.
The 6-foot-4, 222-pound tight end was originally thought to be a sleeper, but McNeil's season that finished with a 6-4 record provided Arndt the state to show his abilities and gather new interest.

"My offers are still the same," Arndt said about his scholarships that include UTEP and Air Force. "Stephen F. Austin said they're offering now. Rice and Illinois send stuff from time to time."
Arndt will be making an unofficial visit to Air Force next week. Other than that, Arndt says he's not favoring any one team any longer.
"I kind of backed down on having a favorite," Arndt said about his previous statement that UTEP was in the lead. "I want to be that way before I decide and invite everything in."
Originally, he was planning to decide before Christmas. Has that changed?
"It's still the same because I want to lay low and feel better," Arndt said. "It's the holidays and you kind of want to have that out of the way."
