Austin names Big 12 favorite

Jaelan Austin has a favorite, a second team that also looks great in his recruitment and many others giving chase.
The Grand Prairie (Texas) South Grand Prairie wide receiver said last weekend at the Pylon Sports 7on7 in Las Vegas that Texas Tech is his leader and that Iowa is No. 2 on his list.

"Texas Tech is my No. 1," Austin said. "I just fit perfectly there. They pass the ball every play and they have the style that I really like.
"Iowa was one of my favorite schools off the top. I think I fit in well there but they fell to No. 2 after Texas Tech."
Plenty of interest is coming in for Austin, a 6-foot, 192-pound three-star prospect. He said Ole Miss, Arkansas, Kansas State, Oregon, UCLA, USC and Arizona State are some of the programs getting involved recently.
The Red Raiders are clearly the favorite but Austin said he wants to remain open to other teams that want to offer.
"They definitely all can," Austin said. "I'm open to every school but right now Texas Tech looks like the best one for me."
Rated as the No. 50 wide receiver in the 2015 class, Austin has already visited Lubbock and he especially likes the coaching staff and the wide-open Texas Tech offense.
The Red Raiders could be tough to beat but Austin isn't ready to make a decision yet.
"You can tell they're a young coaching staff and they have swag," Austin said. "They're definitely intense and I like the way they play because they want to get after people. I feel like they're the best option for me right now."
