Austin excited about first offer

At the SoCal NIKE Camp back in April, La Puente (Calif.) Bishop Amat standout Dominique Austin had a dominant showing and was rated among the top five defensive linemen in the camp. Austin picked up his first scholarship offer earlier today however it wasn't on the defensive side of the ball.
Austin, 6-4, 245 pounds is a good looking prospect with a nice upside. He has a great frame, is very athletic and had a motor on him. He dominated the one on one drills at the NIKE Camp showing great pass rushing skills and the ability to beat his man with more than just one move.

As a junior however, Austin saw more action as an offensive lineman and earned 1st team all-league and honorable mention all-state underclass honors on that side of the ball. It's also where he picked up his first offer.
"I talked to Arizona today and they offered me," Austin said. "Coach Bedenbaugh, the OL coach, told me to look for the written offer in the mail soon and I'm very exited about getting this offer.
"For one, it's my first offer and to get it from a school like Arizona means a lot. I was wondering when I would get that first one and now the wondering is over.
"I've been talking to Arizona for awhile now but I still had no idea the offer was coming. They said they want me as an offensive tackle and that's fine with me. I actually prefer defense but I'll play whatever, it doesn't really matter to me.
"I'm going to visit Arizona in the summer to check things out and find out more about them since I've never been there before. I also may camp with Cal and Oregon but I don't have my summer schedule finalized at the moment.
"I don't plan on making an early commitment right now, I really want to see who else is going to recruit me and I want to take my time and make sure I make the right decision. Arizona is very high on my list though and I'm looking forward to getting out there and learning more about them."
