Augusta announces this weekend

It was expected to be an exciting last couple weeks of the recruiting process for Peoria, Ill., defensive tackle Josh Augusta, but the three-star prospect has decided to end the suspense and make his decision this weekend.
"I am going to be deciding on Saturday or Sunday," Augusta reported.

The finalists in Augusta's decision are Missouri, Michigan State, Illinois and Ole Miss and he said he already knows who will be the choice.
"What was important to me was the academics and what the coaches were going to do for me to succeed and graduate to get my degree," Augusta said.
Official visits were taken to Ole Miss the weekend of Nov. 23 and to Missouri the weekend of Dec. 7. An official visit to Illinois was scheduled for this weekend, but will no longer be made. Augusta did not officially visit Michigan State, but did take an unofficial visit to East Lansing during the summer.
The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Augusta has played defensive end, defensive tackle, tight end and even wide receiver during his high school career. He is expected to end up on the defensive side of the football in college.
"I could see myself at either d-tackle or d-end and maybe tight end a little bit," Augusta said.
In the state of Illinois, Augusta checks in as the No. 8 recruit in the class of 2013 and he is the No. 30 defensive tackle prospect nationally.
Augusta has no formal plans for announcing his decision. He will call the coaching staff of the school he chooses sometime this weekend and make his commitment official then.
