Augusta adds two more offers

Being a three-sport star has prevented Peoria (Ill.) defensive end Josh Augusta from devoting much time to his recruitment thus far, but the school year and spring sport season is coming to a close, leaving the 6-foot-5, 275-pounder more time for recruiting. He will have two additional offers to consider after this week.
Augusta had nine offers entering the week, but added one from Missouri on Wednesday and another from Cal on Thursday to bring his total to 11. He had little contact with either school before the offer and is unfamiliar with their programs, but is looking to visit both campuses this summer.

Other campuses Augusta would like to see during the summer include Iowa, Indiana and Indiana State. Other schools are looking to get him to camp and evaluate for an offer.
"I have some new teams that haven't offered me, but have been sending me mail - Oregon, Alabama and Ohio State," Augusta said. "They are trying to get me to camp."
Prior to the Cal and Missouri offers, Augusta had been offered by the likes of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Memphis, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Notre Dame. His schedule has not allowed him to research those schools in depth, but he does not plan to take his recruitment out too far.
"They all are the same so far," Augusta said. "[A decision] will probably be close to football season or during football season."
As a junior, Augusta played defensive end and tight end, tallying 153 tackles and 10 sacks on defense and catching 25 passes for 282 yards and four touchdowns on offense. He is primarily being recruited for the defensive end and defensive tackle positions.
Augusta also stars on the basketball court and will participate in the shot put at the sectional finals in track on Friday. He has a personal best of 61-feet-3 in the shot put this spring.
