Auburn, UNC offer Florida WR

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard wide receiver Kelvin Chandler has picked up a pair of new scholarship offers and a wave of phone calls since the September contact period began.
“I’ve got calls from Auburn, North Carolina, Florida State, Wisconsin, Illinois, Northern Illinois, Duke, Rutgers, Iowa, UCF, Ohio State, Tennessee and Pittsburgh,” he said. “A few of them, I wasn’t at home or they called while I was on the line with someone else, but it’s been pretty crazy around here.

“Auburn and North Carolina have offered now. I have about six or seven offers now.”
Asked what he thought about the new offers, Chandler said: “I went to a camp at Auburn this summer. I liked the environment a lot. It seems like a real good school. They’ve got a strong program. North Carolina is a place I always liked. I don’t know a whole lot about the school and the campus yet. I want to see what they have to offer.”
In addition to the Tigers and Tar Heels, Chandler (6-2, 180, 4.48) has drawn offers from Pittsburgh, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Rutgers and Iowa.
He declined to name any favorites at this point.
“I’m still waiting to say anything about that,” Chandler said. “I want to see who wants me the most and where I would fit in best.”
In his season opener last week, Chandler caught five passes for “about 75 or 80 yards” and a touchdown in helping lead Dillard to a 48-7 victory.
Academically, he maintains a 3.0 GPA and will take his test again next month.
