Auburn still on the mind of 2019 Texas WR Jalen Curry

The Latest: Auburn was the first program to enter the mix for Class of 2019 wide receiver Jalen Curry and even though it’s been more than six months since the Tigers offered, the two sides have remained very close. Curry has seen a flurry of offers recently, with programs like Georgia, Oklahoma and others joining the mix. But according to Curry, the Tigers are still a factor. Rivals.com caught up with him to talk Auburn.

In His Words: “When I camped there and earned the offer it wasn’t something I was expecting. But since then we’ve been talking a lot. My main recruiter there is Coach Burns, the wide receivers coach. I really like him. He’s a good person and he would like for me to come visit again. He’s a young guy and he can relate to younger people like me. We have a real good relationship. He can relate us so that’s really good. I do want to get back for a visit. It was a great experience being on campus. The atmosphere is nice. The people treat you right and the whole SEC thing is just perfect. I love the SEC and I have family in Georgia so they wouldn’t be too far away either.”

Rivals Reaction: The SEC has done a good job of plucking players out of Texas in recent years and it’s clear that Curry is a target of several programs, including Auburn. The fact that the Tigers were his first offer and that he’s already been on campus is a great start. Curry will be a prime target for several schools so it will be interesting to watch how his recruitment plays out.
