Auburn Set To Receive Commitment

The Auburn Tigers could get an oral commitment from Mount Airy (N.C.) North Surry linebacker Oliver King as early as today. Today or not, one thing seems for sure -- King will be committing to Auburn.
"He has an offer from Auburn and he really likes them alot," said North Surry head coach Kirk Martin Wednesday morning. "Clemson, Tennessee and NC State have also shown alot of interest, but he wants to go to Auburn. He could commit today."

King is a 6-foot-2, 220-pound outside linebacker with excellent speed. He runs the 40-yard dash in just 4.6 seconds and is one of the most athletic players in North Carolina. His coach said he could play a few different positions.
"He could play outside linebacker, but he's also big and strong enough to play inside as well," Martin said. "Heck, he could even be a safety he's so quick and such an agressive hitter. He's a very impressive athlete."
Martin feels confident that King will decide on Auburn very soon.
"Like I said, he could commit today," he said. "The coaches can't call him, but as soon as he gives me the word, I'll call them. He's going to Auburn, it just depends on when he tells them."
