Auburn recruits roll in following title

MORE NOTES: Tuesday | Wednesday | Full NSD coverage
Auburn's national championship has made an immediate impact on its 2011 recruiting class.

The Tigers, who beat Oregon for the title on Jan. 10, have been on a recruiting tear with National Signing Day looming Wednesday. Auburn has moved up to sixth in the latest team rankings and, if it keeps rolling, could score a top-five finish.
Auburn added four-star running back Tre Mason to its 2011 commitments list Wednesday, as the 5-foot-10, 190-pounder declared his intentions to sign with the champs. The Lake Worth (Fla.) Park Vista running back chose the Tigers over Ole Miss.
"I'm 150 percent positive this is where I want to be," he said. "… Coach (Gene) Chizik, he doesn't make it seem like he's on a higher pedestal than everyone else. Seems like every coach is a head coach up there, and that's what I liked about it."
But that wasn't the only good news Wednesday, as the Tigers also landed three-star linebacker Devaunte Sigler. Meanwhile, four-star tight end Brandon Fulse will decide among Auburn, North Carolina, Miami and Tennessee on Thursday evening. Auburn appears to be the leader for Fulse.
Consider these latest commitments come on the heels of Auburn accepting a commitment from five-star linebacker Kris Frost and stealing four-star offensive lineman Christian Westerman from Texas, and it's easy to see how the national title already is paying off for the Tigers in recruiting.
Sankey finally makes switch
The tweet from Washington coach Steve Sarkisian, like many others from Sarkisian, could have had a hidden message attached.
"Woof, woof, woof!!!"
The timing was maybe a coincidence, maybe not, as Washington received a commitment from four-star running back Bishop Sankey, a former Washington State pledge, the same night as Sarkisian's Twitter message this week.
"I prayed about it and talked it over with my family countless times and what stood out to me was the academics and how UW gives tons of support to their athletes," Sankey said.
