Bryan Harsin entered the 2022 season on the proverbial hotseat after a 6-7 (3-5 SEC) Year 1 with the Auburn Tigers. After a 3-5, 1-4 start in the SEC, riding a four-game losing streak after a 41-27 home loss to the Arkansas Razorbacks, Auburn parted ways with coach Harsin on Monday.

Class of 2023 recruits share their reactions to the dismissal of coach Harsin.

“I completely understand their situation with the NCAA and respect the fact that is how he feeds his family. In fact, my goals are to prove I’m a dominating player at any level, and God willing, use that as an avenue to take care of my momma. That’s why I’m taking the mid-year grad way, because I take my future serious and the goals I have set in place. With that being said, I’m blessed to be recruited by such prestigious programs.”

Wilson decommitted via social media Monday afternoon after Harsin was let go.

Terrance Love was not ready to talk about Harsin’s dismissal but did say he is still committed to Auburn.

“When I first came down here on a visit, coach Harsin showed me and my family love. I love him. I wanted to play for him. I feel like they did not give him a chance. He is one of the best out there. I love him as a person and as a coach.”

Joiner on the mood in the city of Auburn: “At my school, people are down. Coach Harsin’s son, Davis, he is one of my teammates. I love him like a brother. I will be losing him now.”

Joiner on his commitment: “As of right now I am.”

“It stinks to see coaches getting let go because of everything that will follow from that. When I flipped to Auburn, I picked the school, not just based on coaches. I understood and saw the circumstances, but Auburn is a special place and I still want to be a part of it.”

“It really isn’t a shocker to me, that’s Just how this business stuff goes. From here on out, I’m still locked in with Auburn, but my options are open.”

“Coach Harsin and his staff of coaches have built a solid and meaningful relationship with me and my family. I don’t know who the replacement will be or if the new administration will be as willing to build that type of foundation with me. I really like Auburn, but I am also open and excited to see what the future holds as well.”
