Auburn offer catches the eye of 2016 FL WR

At the beginning of the spring evaluation period, Class of 2016 Plant City (Fla.) wide receiver T.J. Chase was like most underclassmen in America - trying to catch the eye of an on looking coach. Not only did he achieve his goal, but by the time he played his spring game last week he had already his the 20 offer mark.
"Coaches have just been popping up at our school and we had a lot of traffic come through in the spring," Chase said. "It seems like all day every day I'm hearing from someone new and coaches are just telling me how much they like my film and stuff like that. I remember when I just had one offer and now I have 20, it's been crazy."

With schools like Alabama, Clemson, Florida and others on his list, Chase said he's just starting to sort through them all. However, he did say one offer in particular excited him.
"When I got the Auburn offer I was happy," Chase said. "I like their program and the success they've had recently."
With Auburn's offense featuring a mix of run and pass, Chase said he initially had some concerns about how many opportunities he would have as a receiver in the Tigers offense.
"What put me back a little bit is how much they run the ball," he said. "They're a running team and I want to go to a program that throws it around a little."
But the Tigers coaches made sure Chase knows that if he does come to Auburn, he'll have plenty of opportunities.
"They said they will put the ball in my hands anyway they can," Chase said. "Screens, deep down the field, they just think I can be a weapon on offense."
Now that his offer list has grown so much, Chase said he's excited to get out on the road and visit schools this summer.
"We're going to be traveling this summer for sure," he said. "We're going to be going to a lot of places, for sure Clemson, Florida State, UCF and Virginia Tech."
