Auburn, Clemson, Ole Miss lead for OL

Three-star Dalton (Ga.) offensive guard Cameron Mayo is planning some early official visits in hopes of making a college decision sometime in the near future.
“We’ve got back-to-back open dates early on our schedule, and that would give me a chance to go visit a couple of schools,” he said. “I’m thinking about Clemson and Ole Miss or maybe Auburn.

“I’d like to see a couple of those and then hopefully make a decision sometime after I get back.”
Mayo (6-5, 258, 4.85) has scholarship offers from Auburn, South Carolina, Clemson, Ole Miss, Duke, Louisville, Cincinnati, Middle Tennessee, East Carolina and UT-Chattanooga. He’s also receiving interest from Florida, Tennessee and Georgia Tech, but it appears those schools have some catching up to do to match his top three.
“I’m open between those three right now,” he said. “But I do like Auburn a lot. My teammate from last year, Cole Bennett, is down there. We’re close friends, so that kind of gives them an edge.
“There’s a lot of things I want to look at, though. I want to find the best fit for me, somewhere I’ll have a chance to go in and play.”
Academically, Mayo maintains a 3.4 GPA and has scored an 820 on the SAT.
