Auburn and Ole Miss to visit Clark

Justin Clark has impressed some of his SEC recruiters. Now, to make a decision on whether to extend him an offer, it seems that a couple schools want to see the Collins (Miss.) defensive end in person.
“I’ve been talking a lot to Ole Miss, Auburn, Southern Miss, West Virginia and Marshall,” Clark said. “Some Ole Miss coaches are going to come watch me play on Friday and they keep saying they want to give me some tickets to come watch them play. I’ll probably go see the Egg Bowl [against Mississippi State] because that will be hyped.

“Auburn is going to come see me play next Friday, and the offered me tickets to see them play Mississippi State and Arkansas. At the Mississippi State game I liked the coaching staff and being able to be on the sidelines. I also just like Auburn, period. I always liked them.”
While one might think that such intense interest would have warranted scholarship offers already, Clark says that some academic concerns may have kept schools at arm’s length. He’s confident that all those issues will be solved soon.
“I think that schools are waiting on my ACT to offer me,” he said. “Auburn and Ole Miss said they’ll offer me if the ACT works out, and I think it will. Then I’m going to go visit Ole Miss, Auburn, and probably Southern Miss sometime in December or January.”
At this point Clark isn’t ready to name a favorite, but a major player in Auburn’s success this year may have a key role in getting Clark to help lead them to success in the future.
“Jason Campbell [Auburn starting quarterback] is a friend of mine,” Clark said. “He lives like 10 minutes away and I’ve talked to him about the school. That helped. He likes the school there, and he talked to me about what to expect and everything. I’m a very physical player, and I always play with 100 percent and play smart. I try to lead on the field, and I think I’m like him [Campbell] that way.”
