Auburn after 2019 Tennessee DE Ani Izuchukwu

The Latest: Class of 2019 defensive lineman Ani Izuchukwu has only been playing football for a few years, but he already has the attention of some of college football’s top teams. The native of Nigeria saw his first extensive varsity action as a sophomore this past fall and as his tape makes the rounds his interest has continued to increase, with Auburn among the most active to date. In His Words: “I got an offer from Auburn during the summer after I camped. They really like my game and my athleticism. They have three Nigerian guys there already so they know how to take guys like me and help develop them. It’s a really nice down there at their campus and it’s nice to have that connection with the other Nigerian guys. They told me they really like it there and I’m so happy to hear it from them. It’s like a brother telling you, this is what I think and this is what you should do and that means a lot to me. It was fun being down there with them and I can’t wait to get back soon.”

Rivals Reaction: It’s still early for Izuchukwu and he’s still learning the game, but he has the type of raw physical skills that coaches search far and wide to find. As he makes the rounds this spring for visits, expect his offer list to keep growing. For the Tigers, getting him back on campus will be important as they continue to try to get him to join the fold.
