Attention picks up for Williams

Hooks (Texas) 2015 linebacker R.J. Williams has yet to pick up his first offer, but the attention is coming.
Currently checking in at 6-foot, 230-pounds, Williams attended the Baylor camp in Marshall and the TCU camp this summer, and lately has seen a few more schools pick their interest.

"Arkansas has been sending me a lot of letters lately, and Nebraska I got more from them today," Williams said. "Houston wants me to go to one of their football games in August or September."
As for offers, one Big 12 programs seems particularly interested according to Williams.
"Oklahoma I think they've been talking about it," Williams said. "I know they want me to go up there and check them out. I'm going to go up there in the fall sometime."
He does not have any visits scheduled, but he does hope to make it out to Houston. As for a decision, he's not worried about top schools or anything of that nature right now.
"I'm just taking it easy," Williams said. "I'll know about the end of my junior year or the beginning of my senior year."
For now he is focused on his junior year. Williams earned district newcomer of the year honors in 2011, and in 2012 recorded 78 tackles and four sacks, but finished outside of the playoffs. He is doing his part to make sure 2013 is different.
"Right now I have my team set to go to the playoffs," Williams said. "I have that mindset already. All we have to do is push hard and keep on going. Right now I'm trying to get down to my regular weight. My strength is still the same but I need to get my speed up."
