Attention grows for Strickland

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Brandon (Miss.) three-star defensive end Kyle Strickland has been keeping his options open when it comes to the recruiting process. He currently holds Louisiana-Monroe and Louisiana-Lafayette, and he recently added another as well as even more attention.
"The latest is I'm getting a lot of mail from Georgia Tech and Auburn," Strickland said. "I've gotten a few calls from (Mississippi) State. I got offered by Southern Miss last week. State is pretty high on me right now. I have a little Oregon on me. It's been a good process."

He is keeping his options open, but the standout defender does have a few schools standing out at this point.
"I'm leaning towards Southern Miss or Louisiana-Lafayette," Strickland said. "They're schools that are struggling and hopefully I can come in there and make a difference as a freshman."
Strickland currently has official visits scheduled to Louisiana-Lafayette on January 24 and Southern Miss on January 31. As for a decision, he also has a plan there.
"February 5, Signing Day so hopefully I have my mind made up by then," Strickland said.
Overall, Strickland has had fun but he is ready for the process to come to a finish.
"It's been a fun year with phone calls here and there and coaches coming to the school," Strickland said. "It's fun but I'm ready for it to be over with so I can make my final decision."
