Attention arrives for Deculus

Cypress (Texas) Cy-Fair 2017 offensive tackle Austin Deculus stands out at 6-foot-5 and 280 pounds. His play on the field is also quick to catch attention. He earned first-team all-district honors in 2014, and now he has the full attention of college coaches.
Baylor, Texas Tech, and Illinois have each extended scholarship offers to the Houston-area offensive lineman, with Baylor extending his first offer about a month ago.

"Baylor was the first school and when it happened if felt amazing," Deculus said. "Like all the work I've done paid off. But then I came back and I knew I would have to work harder to keep it."
Deculus has not had a chance to take many visits but he was able to make it to Baylor. A few aspects of the visit caught his attention.
"I went to Baylor and I liked that the school had a nice atmosphere and a good academic field," Deculus said.
He does not have any other visits on his schedule right now, and he does not know his camp plans at this time. He does know he plans to attend a few.
At this early point in the process Deculus is taking in the recruiting process.
In addition to being a standout on the football field, Deculus is also a standout on the track where he throws the shot and discus. In fact Texas State and Texas Tech have talked about the possibility of him competing on the track and the football field on the college level.
