Atlanta RB heading to UAB

Alabama-Birmingham has picked up yet another verbal commitment from the state of Georgia. Atlanta Grady running back Dexter Barnett told Rivals.com of his decision to become a UAB Blazer during an exclusive interview on Monday night.
"I've committed to UAB," Barnett said. "When I went on an official visit the coaches were great and I met a lot of the players and had a great time."

Barnett also considered Indiana, Bowling Green, Akron, Central Florida, East Carolina and Miami (Ohio), among others.
Early playing time potentially could have played a factor in his decision.
"UAB lost 30 seniors and only one running back is left on scholarship so I can come in and compete for playing time right away, maybe even start."
Barnett's commitment is firm.
"I'm completely done," he said. "I'm solid to UAB."
Barnett is a two-star rated recruit by Rivals.com.
