Atlanta athlete has a favorite

Atlanta North Springs running back Emmanuel Holland has an early favorite that has enjoyed a recent tradition of having great running backs from the metro area.
"My favorite is Auburn," Holland said. "They produce a lot of good running backs and I took a visit there unofficially. It felt like home to me and I really enjoyed it."

Holland hopes to follow in the footsteps of recent Tiger greats from the Atlanta area like Kenny Irons (Dacula) and Ronnie Brown (Cartersville).
The 5-foot-10, 186-pound Holland has not yet received a scholarship offer, but is getting letters from the Tigers, along with Louisville, Arkansas, Florida, Michigan State, Illinois, Penn State, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt and Oregon.
In addition to Auburn, Holland likes Georgia, Florida, Arkansas and LSU.
"I want to stay at home in the SEC," he said. "That's where the talent is."
In addition to running back Holland could potentially play wide receiver or even defensive back in college. He had approximately 900 yards of total offense (600 rushing and 300 passing) as a high school junior and 10 touchdowns. Holland had three interceptions on defense.
He models his game on offense after former Memphis running back and potential high NFL draft pick DeAngelo Williams.
"He is my model because of his elusive style," Holland said. "I like how he can score and do a lot of things with the ball."
Holland attended the Rivals.com Junior Day last Saturday at Lovejoy High and hopes to attend the Athens NIKE Camp April 29 on the campus of the University of Georgia.
